So much to blog, so little time

Halloween weekend seemed to be the weekend that I got behind on my blog again. It was a crazy busy weekend. Trick or treating one night, Ella's birthday celebration the next afternoon, followed by my sister-in-law's big 40th birthday celebration that evening, and then Drews' baby blessing the next afternoon. All big things and it made for a great weekend. Here's my update to it all...

Drews' blessing day

Look at my handsome boy! I love baby blessings. Especially when it's my baby being blessed! Dave gave Drews a beautiful blessing. I know that this little guy is one special spirit and I am already so honored to be his mom. I still can't quite get over how much I am adoring my boy after all the initial anxiety I had over it! He is wonderful!

Here's a picture of all of our family that was able to be with us on this special day. I was so glad that most of the men in our immediate family were able to be there to participate in the blessing.

Look who's 6!

I can't believe my baby is 6! Instead of a big party this year, we decided to have a girls night out. Because of scheduling things though, it ended up having to be a girls day out. Ella invited 3 girlfriends. And let me tell you...we had SO much fun! We went to Chili's for lunch and then to see High School Musical 3. It was so fun to drive these giggly girls around and listen to their conversations. They didn't sound like a group of 6 year olds to me...they all seem so grown up. I totally got a glimpse of what life will be like in 10 years! I loved taking pictures of them and these that I am posting are just a fraction of what I have. They were so funny and such posers! All 4 of these little girls are so full of personality and it made for such a fun time!

So right when we walked into the theater we saw this giant poster. All 4 girls started giggling and pointing to it! Of course I saw it as a photo-op! Here they are still snickering...

Here they are being the high school musical cast themselves (that is the hsm 3 poster behind them.) Before the movie started they were all talking about their favorite character in the movie. They asked me who mine was and I told them Troy was favorite. I wasn't ready for this response... "Oh yeah, he is SO dreamy!" HAHAHA! Well, he is! At least they have good taste!

I know there are many more adventures like this in the future and I can't wait for them!

On the actual day of Ella's birthday we had a little party at home for her. She picked a flower for her cake this year and was very specific in telling me how to decorate it. I did it just as she requested..."in an A/B pattern with pink and purple." She seemed pleased!

She didn't tell us what her wish was! It was the first year she's kept it a secret!

Happy birthday big girl! We are so glad you are a part of our family! You make us laugh every day and we are so grateful for the ray of sunshine you are.

Halloween

Halloween was fun this year. Ella was a cheerleader. I really didn't want her to be one because I am trying to avoid the whole cheer thing all together, but I gave in. So here she is...and while I thought she was darling, I hope this isn't a glimpse of things to come.

And Ava was a bumblebee. And look...she found her twin! She loved this little monkey we came across while trick or treating.

The girls had lots of fun trick or treating. Ava grasped onto the whole concept pretty quickly and was pretty excited about it. And she tried so hard to keep up with Ella and her friends. She did for a while before she got too tired and opted to ride in the stoller instead (plus it was easier to start eating candy when she wasn't having to concentrate on walking!)

Drews slept the whole time and we just left him in the stroller. I didn't dress him up this year. I don't think he minded though!
